Accused Drug Dealer Arrested for Shoplifting

The man fled, but the state police caught him.

Police say a Lawrence man previously accused of dealing drugs was arrested for shoplifting and drugs Thursday.

At just after 5:30 p.m., police received a call from an employee at saying a shoplifter had just fled the store and was in the woods behind the Mobil station.

Police searched the area but couldn't find the suspect. But shortly after, state police reportedly found him on Glenwood Street.

Angel Rosa, 46, of 30A Melrose St., Lawrence, was arrested for larceny and possession of a class A substance.

Rosa also had a warrant for his arrest relating to a charge of distribution of a class A substance.

Thursday, July 19

At 1:44 a.m., a caller on Boxford Street reported that a car had hit a tree. Police called medics, but there was no one in the car. Police eventually found the owner in a home nearby, but the man said he hadn't been driving the car.

At 5:43 a.m., a caller on Wintergreen Drive reported seeing an aggressive dog, a terrier, on his property. The dog ran off.

At 7:10 a.m., a caller on Prescott Street reported that his car was stolen overnight. Police eventually found the car on School Street in Lawrence, but the car was burned.
