Why Choose North Andover for a Home? Where do I begin...

Lisa Johnson Sevajian, Vice President of Coldwell Banker Andover, MA shares why North Andover is such a great place to buy a home.

Often times people come to my open house events in town without a clear understanding of all we have to offer as a community. This amazes me initially and then I have to remind myself not everyone knows that we have a state of the art new high school or an extremely impressive youth center or an architecturally important library along with some really incredible restaurants. Many haven't yet had the opportunity to hike Weir hill in the fall or go fishing at Steven's pond in the summer. Some don't even know that we have multiple farms for fresh produce in town. If you haven't played golf locally then I'm told you simply haven't played.

Many are aware that we are becoming a strong choice for companies to relocate to but you can't imagine how many professionals haven't yet heard of all of the big business that is already taking place in town. I always encourage people to stroll down mainstreet and check out all of the big names they will recognize. Did you know you could stop into Converse for a new pair of Chuck Taylors without heading to the mall? How great is that! If you  haven't been to an event at the Steven's Estate or visited Brooks school then you may not know how many cultural events take place in our great town. Can you tell how much I love it here?

I tend to get a little over excited at the idea of introducing people to the many appealing features that we have to offer.

So you are considering a move around town? Where do you begin? That depends. What type of person are you? A self contained homeowner who comes home and stays home or a get out and mingle type who wants to have choices within a few minutes walk?

If you have children or teens and are concerned about walk-ability the well known and always sought after Library/ Intown areas offer the perfect solution to your needs. This area consists of single family homes ranging in price from the low $200's upwards into the $600's. Within one mile you have the elementary , middle , high school, library and multiple restaurants and stores. Keep in mind as kids get older and don't yet drive having stores and restaurants close by is a must for those who plan to have summer jobs. If you yourself are the type who likes to stroll to dinner or to pick up your morning coffee you can't go wrong with in town area.

Now the "out country" Smolak area has many plusses for those who prefer larger lot sizes, a little more privacy and the natural landscape of our town's Rockwellesque roads. The donuts alone at Smolak are a reason to buy in this area. Lots of biking opportunities and plenty of places for hiking. Also there are some streets that are well known for having block party blowouts throughout the summer. Being close to the Middleton line allows easy access to 95/1/128 and saves you valuable time in the morning commute. For years it was next to impossible to get cell reception making those who work from home question whether the out country area was for them. I'm happy to say that with modern technology my ipad and I can get coverage at every baseball field in town including Sharpeners pond Soccer fields.Homes today in the "out country" area range in price from the low $300's as high as $2,450,000.

Clearly there is something for everyone in North Andover.

Have questions about what makes my community so great? Call , text or write to me for answers. Not only am I a mother of kids at the elementary and high school I'm also a working professional immersed in our business community. I cross paths with soccer moms and dads, local celebrities, artists, musicians and high ranking ceo's here in town. Though we all have different backgrounds we all agree North Andover is an excellent place to live.
