Pazzo Gelato Collecting Books for Kids

The popular new dessert spot wants your help making children's holiday season better.

This holiday season, when you head out into town for dessert, you can also help kids read.

Pazzo Gelato is having a children't book drive, going on now through Dec. 22. Any person who drops off a children's book will receive 10 percent off their order.

The books will be given to Lazarus House in Lawrence for children in need. Books are great gifts for kids, since a book can take their imaginations anywhere they like.

Pazzo Gelato opened at 99 Turnpike St. in the Eaglewood Plaza earlier this year. They serve dozens of flavors of gelato -- from basics such as strawberry or cookies and cream to exotics like coco hazelnut and banana -- made with milk, not cream, so the treats have fewer calories than ice cream. They also serve fresh paninis and espresso.

Pazzo Gelato is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
