Fine Dining Establishments Becoming Family Friendly This Summer

Many highly regarded restaurants in Boston will be offering all kinds of special events and activities this summer. These events are open to the public, but seating may be limited at certain restaurants so reservations ahead of time are encouraged. Aura, situated at 1 Seaport Ln., allows parents to enjoy fine dining while bringing their children. Aura will entertain children with themed crafts, toys, and movies. Days that this event will take place are June 8, September 20, October 25, November 22, and December 13. For reservations, call 617-385-4300. The Four Seasons Hotel on 200 Boylston St. will be offering hands-on cooking instruction. Each attendee will receive an apron, recipe cards, and tasty treats. Some different events include Eggs, Eggs & Eggs – Omelettes, Souffles and Flans on June 13; BBQ, Beer and Butchering on July 18; and Haute French Cuisine on August 14. The sessions are from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and cost $185 per person per class. Call 617-351-2161 for more information. At Rialto in Cambridge, Chef Jody Adams will be leading a cooking class. The day starts with coffee and scones at 11am in the bar and lounge. Following the cooking class, there will be a multicourse meal served along with fine wines. Attendees will also be given a packet of recipes. The next event at Rialto will be a wine barbeque on July 17. The cost of the event is $125. For more information, call 617-661-5050. Left Bank at the Stonehedge Inn and Spa in Tyngsboro has been holding monthly Winemakers Dinners for 25 years. Winemakers from around the world host a dinner and tell stories about their exceptional vintages. Fantastic menus paired with fine wines are provided with the meals. Left Bank will hold these winemaker dinners on June 24, July 22, August 19, September 23, October 21, and November 18, and December 16. Dinners will begin at 7pm and start at $98. For more info, visit www.stonehedgeinnandspa.com.In Newport, Rhode Island, the Spiced Pear restaurant’s culinary team teaches attendees how to properly pair foods with different wines. The next event is Scotch and Cigar tasting on October 27 from 1 to 4 pm and is $125 per person. Dinner with Duffy and holiday entertaining will take place on November 18 from 4 to 8 pm ($75 per person). Bit of Bubbly is taking place on December 8 featuring Moet & Chandon. The event run from 1 to 4 pm and is $95 per person. For more info, call 401-847-2244. Gracie’s in Providence, Rhode Island will be hosting a star chef series including chef Matthew Varga and his team. They will prepare a multicourse meal paired with wine. The next featured chef will be Michael Ginor who founded Hundson Valley Foie Gras on June 10. Maria Helm Sinskey, the culinary director for Robert Sinskey Vineyards, will make an appearance on July 15th. The cost is $125 per person.
