North Andover's Rosemary Smedile Running for State Rep.
The seat is currently occupied by State Rep. Diana DiZoglio, D-Methuen.
Rosemary Smedile, North Andover's Selectboard chair, is running for state representative.
Smedile held a campaign kick-off event at Joe Fish Thursday, the Eagle-Tribune reported.
She's running for the 14th Essex District, which includes parts of North Andover, Lawrence, Methuen and Haverhill.
Smedile is a Republican. She's currently the only GOP candidate who has announced plans to run, according to the Tribune. She's a licensed realtor.
The seat is currently occupied by State Rep. Diana DiZoglio, D-Methuen. DiZoglio is running for re-election. North Andover residents Phil DeCologero and Oscar Camargo will challenge her in the primary, which will be held Sept. 9.
