Woman Charged With Attacking Boyfriend With Knife
A North Andover woman was arrested over the weekend on assault charges.
Irene wasn't the only one bringing weekend wrath to town.
Early Saturday morning, just after 3 a.m., were called to Bixby Avenue for a domestic assault.
"The boyfriend called saying his girlfiend had attacked him with a knife," Lt. Charles Gray said. there was no word on what caused the altercation.

Officers Eric Sewade and Michael Gilligan investigated the matter and found that the girlfriend in question -- Lisa M. Pouliot, 47, of 6 Bixby Ave. -- had a Massachusetts Trial Court warrant out for her arrest regarding a previous incident of operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
Police arrested her for the warrant, and she had a whole new set of charges in store as well. They charged her with assault and battery on a household member and assault with a dangerous weapon. Her boyfriend had very minor injuries consisting of a few scratches on his face, police said.

Pouliot did not spend the weekend in jail during the tropical storm. She was released on bail Saturday evening.
Other than this arrest, most police business over the weekend was focused on the impact of Hurricane Irene -- several reports of downed limbs, wires and disabled vehicles.
