Trick-or-Treat Postponed

The kids will have to wait a few days.

For the second year in a row, trick-or-treating in North Andover will be after Halloween.

Due to the mess left by Hurricane Sandy and continued power outages, the town has recheduled trick-or-treating for Saturday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.

As of this posting, many in town are still without power and there are still tree limbs and wires down.

Latest estimates are that about a quarter of the town has no power. North Andover Emergency Management Director Jeff Coco said that a lot of Route 125 still has no power. Crews are working in that area now.

Last year, a massive snowstorm knocked out power for nearly a week and forced the town to delay trick-or-treating until the following weekend.
