Severe Thunderstorm, Flash Flood Warning for North Andover
Strong winds and rising waters are expected.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood warning, in effect until after 9 p.m., for the North Shore and parts of the Merrimack Valley including North Andover.
Winds could reach 60 miles per hour, and the storms may produce downpours and hail.
"Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause eleveated levels of small creeks and streams," the NWS alert said, also warning of ponding in urban areas and on streets and highways.

Residents are advised to stay home and stay indoors during the storms.
