Power Outages Disrupt Town

The lights started going out all over town Thursday.

On Thursday evening, many people around North Andover were likely saying "Oh no, not again."

Power outages started occurring sporadically around town. During the evening commute, power was out in several places on Route 114 from the North Andover up to near Panera.

Police said that was caused by a fallen wire on Waverly Street that burned through an insulator. National Grid fixed that wire.

But then at just after 8 p.m., the power went out at the intersection of Osgood Street and Sutton Street, and the traffic light was out there. About that time, residents on Second Street reported that the lights went out for a few minutes.

Residents on Walker Road reported losing power for a few minutes just before 9 p.m. Brightwood Avenue did as well, for three minutes.
