DEFEAT: Merrimack Falls at the Garden

The Warriors gave it their all but were defeated by Boston College 5-3.

Merrimack College fell short in its first ever shot at the Hockey East Championship, losing to reigning champs Boston College Eagles 5-3 at TD Garden Saturday night.

Things started out ferociously, with Merrimack's Ryan Flanigan scoring early on to tie the game 1-1, but then the Eagles quickly came back with a score by Brian Gibbons' score and took the lead. They would maintain that lead for most of the game.

Merrimack faced setback after setback, with what seemed like a goal in the first period turning out to be a dud and a short-lived tie in the second being broken by the Eagles as quickly as it came.
