Five Things You Need to Know: Sept. 25

Local news for your morning.

Today is Tuesday, Sept. 25. Here are five things you need to know.

  • Warm Day: Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-70s most of the day, with clear sunny skies.
  • Eat Up: It's Restaurant Week in North Andover. Check out all the deals at local restaurants.
  • EEE: Summer may be over, but the mosquitoes are still here. The town is spraying at schools and local parks after dark until Wednesday.
  • Fall Festival: There was a huge turnout for Fall Festival. Upload your photos of the event here!
  • This Day in History: In 1775, Ethan Allen was captured by British forces during the Revolutionary War. In 1789, Congress adopted 12 amendments to the Constitution, and ten of the amendments became the Bill of Rights.
In 1965, Willie Mays, at the age of 34, became the oldest man to hit 50 home runs in a single season, 10 years after setting the record for the youngest to hit 50. In 1981, Sandra Day O'Connor was sworn in as the first female justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
