- No Trick-or-Treat: Trick-or-Treat has been postponed until Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.
- No School: Public schools are closed today as well.
- This Day in History: In 1864, Nevada became the 36th state. In 1922, Benito Mussolini became prime minister of Italy. In 1940, the British air victory in the Battle of Britain prevented Germany from invading Britain. In 1983, the Defense Department acknowledged that during the invasion of Grenada, that a Navy plane had mistakenly bombed a civilian hospital.
