Today is Tuesday, Oct. 18. Here are five things you need to know:

  • Partly Coudy: Temperatures are expected to be in the low-60s most of the day, with clouds much of the day as well.
  • Restaurant Week: This week is Restaurant Week in North Andover. deals participating restaurants are offering.
  • New Town Manager: Selectmen chose the new town manager last night.
  • Pickleball: Not sure what pickleball is? It's a court sport combining tennis, ping pong and badminton. You can play today at 12 p.m. at the Cost is $10. Open to ages 18 and older. Equipment and lessons provided.
  • This Day in History: In 1767, the Mason-Dixon line was agreed upon, the boundary between Maryland and Pennsylvania. In 1873, the first rules for intercollegiate football were drawn up by representatives from Rutgers, Yale, Columbia and Princeton universities. In 1931, inventor Thomas Alva Edison died at the age of 84. In 1943, the first broadcast of "Perry Mason" was presented on CBS Radio.
