Five Things You Need to Know: Nov. 11

Another rainy day today.

Today is Friday, Nov. 11. Here are five things you need to know:

  • More Rain: Temperatures are expected to be around 50 degrees most of the day, with some showers possible.
  • Parade: Today is Veterans Day, and the town is celebrating with their annual parade. The parade will form at the corner of First and Main streets and will proceed to Veterans Memorial Park, where there will be a ceremony.
  • Football: The at 7 p.m. at 
  • Pie Contest: is having a pie recipe contest. your recipe for a chance to win.
  • This Day in History: In 1620, the Mayflower Compact calling for "just and equal laws" was signed by the 41 men on the Mayflower when they landed in what is now Provincetown Harbor near Cape Cod. In 1851, Alvan Clark patented the telescope. In 1993 the Vietnam Women's Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C., to honor the more than 11,000 women who had served in the Vietnam War.
