Five Things You Need to Know: May 21

Today is Monday, May 21. Here are five things you need to know:

  • Some Rain: Temperatures are expected to be in the low 70s most of the day, with clear sunny skies.
  • Sheep Shearing: The sheep are shorn. We have a lot of great photos from the Sheep Shearing Festival, so be sure to check back today for those. Also, if you posed for photos at the Patch tent, your photos will be available on the site today as well.
  • Meeting: The Board of Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at
  • New Rules: Town Moderator Mark DiSalvo recently announced new rules for Town Meeting.
  • This Day in History: In 1832, the Democratic Party held its first national convention. In 1881, Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross. In 1927, Charles Lindberg completed the first solo nonstop airplane flight across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1980, "The Empire Strikes Back" was released.
