Today is Monday, May 14. Here are five things you need to know:

  • More Rain: Temperatures are expected to be around 70 degrees most of the day, with showers throughout the day as well.
  • Bus Hikes: The North Andover School Committee is seeking input before taking action on a proposal to increase the bus fee from $300 to $330 and eliminate the discount for early payment. You can give your input during public comment at the committee meeting May 17 or via email.
  • Boot Camp: 2 for 1 Outdoor Boot Camp at Merrimack College will be at 6 p.m. at
  • Honoring "Mayor" Holland: Patch will host an unofficial inauguration ceremony for Sunday during the Sheep Shearing Festival. Stay tuned for details.
  • This Day in History: In 1787, Delegates began gathering in Philadelphia for a convention to draw up the United States Constitution. In 1913, John D. Rockefeller created the Rockerfeller Foundation with a gift of $100 million. In 1973, Skylab One was launched into orbit around Earth as the first U.S. manned space station. In 1998, the final episode of "Seinfeld" aired on NBC.
