Five Things You Need to Know: March 8

We can now see the ground for the first time since December.

Today is Tuesday, March 8. Here are five things you need to know:

  • Still Mild: Temperatures are expected to be around 40 degrees most of the day, melting even more of that snow.
  • Floods and Potholes: There may be some flooding in some areas, and of course there are lots of potholes. for the latest updates on our North Andover Pothole Hunt or to post ones you find.
  • Spring Bulbs: and is selling spring flower bulbs. NAPAC receives 50 percent of all sales. You can purchase the flowers online at www.flowerpowerfundraising.com/i/t/83109/fe3Wh9AJATr6.
  • Cheap(er) Gas: Not that there's any such thing as "cheap" gas these days, but you can get gas for $3.40 a gallon for regular at Solo Gas on Osgood Street.
  • This Day in History: In 1948, the Supreme Court ruled that religious instruction in public schools was unconstitutional. In 1993, MTV's "Beavis and Butthead" premiered. In 2001, the House passed tax cuts (now called "the Bush tax cuts") totalling more than $1 billion.
