Five Things You Need to Know: June 20

It's Monday, but cheer up -- at least the weather's nice.

Today is Monday, June 20. Here are five things you need to know:

  • Pleasant: Temperatures are expected to be around 80 degrees most of the day, with clear sunny skies.
  • Bruins Parade: Do you have photos or video from the parade? Send them to Bryan.McGonigle@patch.com and we'll post them on Patch.
  • Meetings: The School Building Committee Meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. at Kittredge Elementary School. The Housing Authority Meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, followed by the Board of Selectmen Meeting at 7:30 p.m., also at Town Hall.

  • This Day in History: In 1893, a jury in New Bedford found Lizzie Borden innocent of the murders of her father and stepmother. In 1941, - the U.S. Army Air Force was established, replacing the Army Air Corps. In 1955, the AFL and CIO combined names and a merged into a single group. In 1983, the Supreme Court ruled that employers must treat male and female workers equally regarding health benefits for spouses.
