Five Things You Need to Know: July 20

The North Andover heatwave has started.

Today is Wednesday, July 20. Here are five things you need to know:

  • Scorcher: Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s today with sunny skies and high humidity.
  • Keep Pets Cool: Heat is especially dangerous to pets,
  • Governor's Visit: Gov. Deval Patrick visited North Andover yesterday afternoon to tour Jessica's Brick Oven Bakery. Check out our video this morning.
  • For the Kids: You can drop off your kids ages 3 to 9 for various themes including: Princess, Popstar, Bugs and Zookeeper Week. You can come for the day or the entire week. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • This Day in History: In 1935 NBC radio debuted "G-men," later renamed "Gangbusters." In 1944, President Franklin Roosevelt was nominated for an unprecedented fourth term at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. In 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr. became the first men to walk on the moon.
