Five Things You Need to Know: Jan. 19

Brace yourselves for an icy start.

Today is Wednesday, Jan. 19. Here are five things you should know in North Andover today:

  • Slippery start: The freezing rain and ice storm that took place overnight will make for a slippery start to your day. And as the temperature rises toward 30 degrees this morning, there will be a lot of fog as well.
  • No pick-up: Trash pick-up has been delayed one day because of the holiday.
  • Scarlet Knights: The varsity indoor track team will at 6:45 p.m. at 36R Bartlet St., Andover.
  • Speaker Series: The will present Rick Irving at 7 p.m. at North Andover High School.
  • This day in history: In 1966, Indira Gandhi was elected prime minister of India. In 1993, Bill Clinton was inaugurated as president of the United States.
