Five Things You Need to Know: Feb. 24

Some morning news to start your day.

Today is Friday, Feb. 24. Here are five things you need to know:

  • Another Wet One: Temperatures are expected to be in the high 40s most of the day, with showers most of the day as well.
  • Story Time: Looking for something for the kids to do? Friday Morning Drop-in Story Time will be at 10:30 a.m. at Stevens Memorial Library.
  • Daffodils: The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days fundraiser is still going on. You can donate and give hope to cancer patients.
  • Letters: It's election season. Got an opinion? Submit a Letter to the Editor to Bryan.McGonigle@patch.com.
  • This Day in History: In 1803, the Supreme Court ruled itself to be the final interpreter of all constitutional issues. In 1848, the Communist Manifesto was published. In 1868, the first parade to use floats was in New Orleans at Mardi Gras. In 1992, "Wayne's World" opened in theaters.
