  • This Day in History: In 1904, James Barrie's play "Peter Pan" premiered in London. In 1938, the first skimobile course in America opened in North Conway, N.H. In 1945, the World Bank was created with an agreement signed by 28 nations. In 1978, Spain became a democracy when it adopted a new constitution.
