Summer began, the school year ended, and North Andover was packed with news.

Summer began last week, and although the weather was cool and rainy, things heated up in North Andover. Here are five things that made headlines in North Andover this past week.

Summer Lovin': You probably wouldn't know it by the weather, but summer officially started this week. We posted an image gallery of photos from the spring, and we asked residents what they thought of when they thought of summer. And kids from a local elementary school showed off their impressive garden.

Municipal Star Search: With in a few days, selectmen have rigorously started the search for a replacement. And in the meantime, they appointed retired Norton Town Manager Jim Purcell to be the interim town manager Several recruitment consulting firms to help with the permanent town manager replacement search, and selectmen are mulling those proposals over this weekend.
