Here are some things for grown-ups to do this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

When/Where: Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Addison Art Gallery, 180 Main St., Andover.

Why Go: The Addison Gallery of American Art at Phillips Academy presents John La Farge's Second Paradise: Voyages in the South Seas, 1890-1891. This exhibit showcases several La Farge oil paintings, watercolors and sketches from his trip to the islands of the South Pacific and features 12 previously unknown sketchbooks, filled with drawings of people and landscapes as well as notes on culture and language, providing new insight into this period in La Farge's career.

Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Saturday at 8 p.m. at Crossroads Coffeehouse, 3 Great Pond Road, North Andover.

Why Go: Duwende is a six-person vocal band known for its fiercely original, bass-and-beatbox-driven funk/pop style of music. Based in New York, Duwende made its mark with shows in traditional rock clubs and venues, but in addition to playing Crossroads before, they’ve also appeared at music festivals, colleges, and special events all around the country. Their two most recent albums won the 2005 and 2008 Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Pop/Rock Original Song Contemporary A Capella Recording Awards.

Pricing: $18 a ticket.

When/Where: Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Andover/North Andover YMCA, 165 Haverhill St., Andover.

Why Go: Parents deserve a night out. You can drop your kids off at the YMCA for a fun night of crafts, mat room and more. The YMCA will provide dinner and a light snack. Pre-register at the Welcome Center.

Pricing: $20 for general public, $10 for members.

When/Where: Sunday at 9 a.m. at , 500 Great Pond Road, North Andover.

Why Go: The North Andover Democratic Town Committee is hosting their Annual Scholarship Breakfast with a brief speaking program that will include newly elected State Treasurer Steve Grossman, Congressman John Tierney and Senate candidate Bob Massie.

Pricing: $25 per person, or groups can purchase a table of eight for $160.

When/Where: Sunday 8 to 11 a.m. at 19 Johnson St.

Why Go: Eggs, sausage, pancakes and more, and you can bring the kids -- young kids eat for free.

Pricing: $5 per person, and kids under age 6 eat free.
