Businesses Team Up To Support North Andover Non-Profit Program

A Little Easier Recovery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in North Andover that strives to empower cancer patients to regain their dignity and control during their cancer treatment and recovery through a proven educational program. A Little Easier Recovery announces support from Polartec, Toshiba Business Solutions New England, and the Boston Scientific Foundation, which will support advanced breast cancer patients now.

As a non-profit organization, we are able to provide a free program for patients who need it the most through grants like this, and donations to A Little Easier Recovery. The Jacki Program teaches patients how to manage surgical drains, regain independence, and live a better quality life throughout treatment and recovery. Additionally, the program offers an Organization System, which helps people navigate through the maze of cancer and better equip them to self-advocate for themselves. This also aids the medical staff care for a more organized patient and allows loved ones to all be on the same page.

The organization’s success is shown in the overwhelming gratitude received from program participants; ninety-six percent of program participants have expressed they were grateful to participate and would recommend the program to others. The Jacki Program is donated directly to hospitals to distribute at the discretion of nurses and surgeons. Since its inception, over 9,000 Jacki recovery garments have been given to patients as an empowering gift. A Little Easier Recovery aims to help thousands more and help level the playing field in this unfair fight.

A Little Easier Recovery has received support for the past two years from the Boston Scientific Foundation, Macy’s, and many generous individual donors dedicated to patient care. According to Maureen Cardinal, Program Director, “We are grateful for our many local champions, which include outstanding companies right here in the Commonwealth as they continue to support our initiative, and enable us to help make the traumatic ordeal of breast cancer “a little easier.”
