Several readers are wondering about a new sushi restaurant in town.

Several readers have asked about a new sushi restaurant they'd heard was coming to town and when it would arrive.

The answer -- it's here now.

Thyme Japanese Cuisine opened recently in North Andover at the Eaglewood Shops at 97 Turnpike St.

Selectmen welcomed the family-owned restaurant to town at the Board of Selectmen meeting Monday evening. Kathleen Kelly, Thyme's realtor who helped them set up shop in town, was there to accept the welcome and tell them all about the new restaurant.

"What it is, it’s a little bit of boston in North Andover," she said. "It's casual and yet it's elegant."

In addition to conventional seating, Thyme has a hibachi that seats up to 36 patrons as well as a private function room.

Thyme offers a wide variety of Japanese cuisine, and sushi is the restaurant's specialty. The master chef trained in Japan for two years.
