The Café: North Andover's Hidden Gem

This breakfast and lunch restaurant has good prices, a friendly atmosphere, and most importantly, great food.

Just east of the Merrimack River you will find a cozy little restaurant on Sutton Street that is one of North Andover’s hidden gems.

The owners are known to remember customers by their first names, they provide plenty of variety, and online reviews are glowing.

The Café has been around for 19 years after opening its doors back in August of 1991. With 12 tables in its cozy little location near the Suttons Mills, it is a little known location that has a lot to offer.

Breakfast starts at 7:45am at The Café, and a host of breakfast sandwiches are available to get your day started off well.

The ham, egg and cheese is a popular choice. The bacon, egg, and cheese is another option. The sausage, egg, and cheese also gets the job done. These sandwiches make a nice alternative to stopping in for a similar dish at a chain.

Breakfast sandwiches are available until 10:45am.

Those sandwiches are not the only thing that will help you start your day at The Café. Also available are homemade muffins, brownies, homemade cookies, and bagels served with butter, jam, or cream cheese.

A selection of fine roasted coffee will ensure you a happy morning.

The Café’s lunch options are what sets itself apart from similar establishments. Some of the Café Specialties will certainly catch your eye.

Many typical items are offered such as Chicken Salad, Chicken Cutlets, and Egg Salad, but there are a few dishes that will definitely get a second look.

First of all, try the Spinach Mozzarella Ravioli. Also, the Spinach Pie is a favorite, and so are the Crab Cakes.

The Café Sandwiches also make a great lunch. The options are plentiful. Aside from the typical deli sandwiches such as the B.L.T., Tuna Salad, and Turkey Breast, there are some unique sandwiches that you won’t find at your average deli.

The Beef Brisket sandwich certainly makes a hearty lunch. So does the Turkey Meatloaf sandwich which many gravitate toward. Also available are Pulled Pork, Roast Lamb, and Pepper Chicken Sandwiches.

A classic Veggie Burger is also available.

Sandwiches are available on five types of bread. White Bulkie rolls, sliced multigrain, marble rye, pumpernickel, and Syrian bread are all available.

A host of dressings will spice up your sandwich. Take your pick of creamy horseradish, three different types of mustard, barbecue sauce and your favorite veggies.

The plentiful options continue in the cheese department. Opt for American, Swiss, Cheddar, Provolone, or Feta to top your delicious creation.

They also offer salads such as the Fresh Garden Salad and the Greek Salad, which they consider to be their signature dish.

Can’t decide? Try the Café Sampler Platter; you can choose one chicken and two deli items.

The Café even has a Drive-up window so you can get your breakfast or lunch on the run.

Check out the Café’s Facebook page and their full menu. They are located at 208 Sutton Street.

The Café is open Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4pm.
