Your local Valentine's Day guide.

Happy Valentine's Day, North Andover!

Today is when many couples -- as well as friends and families -- will be celebrating love.

The holiday actually stems from the Feast of St. Valentine, a celebration of Valentinus, a third century Christian saint. Bishop Valentinus is said to have performed forbidden weddings for soldiers and was executed in Rome on Feb. 14. His name has been associated with romantic love since the Middle Ages, and a modern secular celebration emerged in the 19th century.
