Rather Dine Out This Thanksgiving? You're In Luck

Plenty of local restaurants are open on Thanksgiving and offering everything from traditional turkey dinner to Mexican food.

Thanksgiving is only four days away, and the local restaurant scene will still be active, vibrant, and opening their doors for hungry patrons.

North Andover has a pair of restaurants that join a good selection of North Shore and Merrimack Valley establishments that will be open on Turkey Day 2012.

With options ranging from traditional turkey meals to Indian food to classic burgers and fries, you’ll be able to spend Thanksgiving eating pretty much whatever your heart desires.

Rolf’s

A Patch Readers’ Choice Award Winner for 2012, Rolf’s is one of North Andover’s favorite spots for holiday meals.

Owner Leslie Carlson always keeps Rolf's open on Thanksgiving.

Rolf’s is well known to locals for making classic, traditional meals. It is always a favorite on St. Patrick’s Day when they offer their corned beef sandwiches for free.

Pete Oakes, Rolf’s chef since last year, will be the one cooking the turkeys for hungry and thirsty Thanksgiving Day customers. Having a Shipyard Pumpkin Ale on draught may be the perfect chaser to a tasty bite of turkey.

On Thursday, they’ll be offering a traditional turkey dinner to its patrons for free. No need to rush out, either. Rolf’s will remain open until its regular time, 1 a.m.

Casa Blanca

This restaurant has been open in North Andover for six years, and it will be open on Thanksgiving with its regular hours. You can have an early Thanksgiving dinner when they open at 11am or take your time and stay until 10pm.

Casa Blanca is offering its normal menu which includes its Macho Burritos, Cancun Chimichangas, and Carne Asada.

“Many people will get burritos or chimichangas with enchiladas,” Jose Vargas of Casa Blanca told Patch earlier this year. Their Macho Burrito features delicious grilled skirt steak wrapped in a flour tortilla with pinto beans, rice and roasted green onions. It is covered in Ranchero sauce, pico de gallo, and sliced avocados.

Don’t forget about their Ultimate Margarita; it’s a 16 ounce drink featuring top shelf tequila, fresh lime juice and of course, a delicious salted rim.

Around the Area

If you’re interested in a Thanksgiving Buffet, On the Bone at the Wyndham Hotel in Andover will be open between 7:30am and 1am. They’ll serve a traditional style meal from noon to 4pm. From 5pm to 9pm they’re offering a traditional turkey dinner and their entire regular menu.

Also in Andover is Samuel’s Restaurant at the Andover Inn. They will also have a buffet style Thanksgiving. Seatings are at 11am, 12:30pm, and 3:30pm.
