North Andover Keeps it Light But Tasty in the Summer Heat

NORTH ANDOVER

Pinot grigio? Limoncello? Fresh salad?
Over at Sutton Street in North Andover, they are all about pairing a delicious meal with a refreshing drink suitable for the hot weather.

“We tend to sell more whites during the summer except for those who drink red no matter what they get,” John Minasian said of his customers’ wine selection.

And people don't hit the heavy foods when the heat is on.

“Especially when it’s hot and humid, people like to eat lighter,” he continued. Minasian had the perfect recommendation for this time of year. “Right now we’re getting some very fresh tomatoes for our Pomodoro Caprese salad which comes with the tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic reduction."

At they are now offering a taste of Greece with their new authentic gyro -- a greek wrap with tomatoes, special tsatziki sauce and thinly shaved meat, broiled.

North Andover-based Mad Maggie's will soon be providing their brand of homemade ice cream to the Andover community.

Reppucci said he is right now hoping to open the store by October 1.

DANVERS

“About 50 percent of our regular customers come in just for our smoothies," owner Brian Lejeune said "We use pure ingredients, no syrups, just fruit and fruit juices; we don't pour ours out of a box.” Solar Infusions Smoothies can also be enhanced with nutritional add-ins, such as whey protein, fat stripper blend, and there are even low carb meal replacement.

PEABODY

The management at is scheduled to appear before the city's liquor licensing board in Peabody to explain why they haven't paid for their all-alcohol license yet.
