North Andover 99’s Restaurant Employees Give Back to Pine Street Inn

The following was submitted by the Ninety-Nine Restaurant.

Employees from The Ninety Nine Restaurant in North Andover volunteered at the Pine Street Inn in May, preparing and serving dinner for over 400 homeless men and women.  The volunteers were joined by seven of The Ninety Nine’s Charlie Doe Founders Award recipients.

The Ninety Nine Restaurants have supported Pine Street Inn’s efforts to end homelessness for more 30 years. Volunteers from Ninety Nine Restaurants locations throughout Massachusetts visit Pine Street Inn each month to prepare dinner and dessert for guests at the Men’s and Women’s Inns.

"It’s always good to give a helping hand," Cali McLaughlin, a North Andover 99s employee, said of the group’s volunteer work.

Each year, The Ninety Nine Restaurants award the Charlie Doe Founders Award to an employee who “exemplifies the spirit and culture that Charlie Doe himself portrayed,” says Bob Botto, recipient of the 2005 Founders Award.  Botto and six other Founders Award recipients served alongside the North Andover 99s team.

Serving more than 11,000 men and women each year, Pine Street provides permanent housing, job training, emergency shelter and street outreach.  The Ninety Nine Restaurant are among the 4,000 volunteers who assist with Pine Street’s work every day of the year.
