The following was submitted by Phil DeCologero

The North Andover Merchants Association (NAMA) will be sponsoring the Second Annual Cystic Fibrosis Night at on Saturday, Nov. 26.

All ages are invited to visit Rolf’s between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. to meet with friends and participate in a raffle made up of donations from local businesses.

“I think everyone had a really great time last year,” said Rolf’s owner Lesley Carlson.

NAMA teamed up with KC’s Dream Team, a North Andover-based group of volunteers, to sponsor the event in 2010. Both groups are hoping to build upon last year’s event and make Saturday even more successful.

“We raised $1,600 last year, and we couldn’t have been happier,” said Dean Thornhill, an East Water Street resident who has been organizing fundraisers for Cystic Fibrosis through KC’s Dream Team for over 22 years. “We really appreciate the support of our local businesses.”

This year’s raffle will include donations from many local businesses, including:

Amici’s Pizzeria

Fitness Together
Kids Karousel
Mad Maggie’s Ice Cream
Main Street Hardware
Nova SalonSpa
Off Season Sports & Physical Therapy

Rose and Dove Gifts
Stachey’s Pizzeria
Wiggles & Jiggles Pet Care.

C.A.P. Landscaping, Scarangello Heating & AC and State Representative David Torrisi each made donations directly to KC’s Dream Team.

“Getting this type of support from North Andover businesses is always a great feeling,” said Thornhill. “I think it says a lot about our town.”

Food is also being donated by Taki’s Pizza and Rolf’s Pub.

“This is exactly what our organization is all about,” said NAMA President Dick Vaillancourt. “We want to support our local businesses while also supporting our community. I am excited that we have built this relationship with the Dream Team.”

In addition to the raffle, money will be raised through a $5 cover charge for all patrons between 6:00pm and 11:00pm.

“The weekend following Thanksgiving is typically very busy,” said Carlson.  “I am just happy to have the opportunity to raise money for a great group of local residents.”
