The Itsy Bitsy consignment event is taking on a new look with a year round boutique opening this weekend.

Itsy Bitsy Thrifty is opening its doors to the public on May 3 with a high-end looking boutique consignment store on Rte. 129 in North Billerica. When you walk in the front door you immediately feel like you’re on Newbury Street with the store’s layout and offerings, but without downtown Boston boutique pricing because while you’re looking through high quality merchandise it’s at consignment prices.

Owners James Fedas and Ann Marie Palmer are not only selling meticulously selected consignment items, but also mixing in a lot of new items, including being a the exclusive seller in the area for Charm It! this year’s “it” item for girls ages 7 to 16.

“We want the store to always be fresh and exciting, so that shoppers want to come back week after week to check out what's new,” Fedas says. “We have several assortments already planned for back to school and holiday time.”

“The boutique will also feature handmade items, like hair clips and bows that are adorable, and amazing handmade diaper cakes! Also, we’re super excited to offer a line of local baby skincare items by Sweet Grass Farms,” Fedas added.

Fedas said customers shopping at Itsy Bitsy should be prepared to shop consignment like they never have before in the area and encourages anyone who has been turned off in the past by disappointing consignment stores with less than pristine merchandise should give them a try.

Itsy Bitsy Thrifty also has exclusive deals to buy merchandise from two clothing retailers they say are too hot to mention to buy brand new items with tags from overstock, as well as a deal with a local children’s footwear chain to bring new shoes and sneakers to shoppers at wholesale pricing.

The store’s grand opening is set for Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, May 4 Queen Elsa from “Frozen” will be at the boutique taking photos with children. Tickets must be pre-purchased on Itsy Bitsy’s Facebook page.  All money goes to Children’s Hospital Boston.

Itsy Bitsy Thrifty is located on Rte. 129 (Exit 29 off of Rte. 3) in the Brick Kiln Plaza, 99 Chelmsford Road in North Billerica.
