“Pretty much everything we do is from scratch,” said Kathy Santoro of Good Day Café.

“This summer we’ve been trying to utilize local produce,” she continued.

For a hearty breakfast, Santoro recommended a couple of the most popular dishes on the menu.

“We make our own quiche and it’s a very different quiche than what most people are used to,” she said. “It’s very high and very hardy and we make it from scratch.”

The Quiche of the Day costs $5.50

On the weekend, treat yourself to a breakfast burrito unlike one that you’ve ever had before.

“We use fresh eggs; we don’t use egg substitutes,” Santoro said. “It has a chicken chorizo in it with peppers and it’s rolled in a wheat tortilla.”

“It’s really yummy,” she concluded.

If you’re not interested in a big, filling breakfast, can certainly accommodate.

“We have fresh bagel sandwiches as well,” Santoro said. “We also do fresh fruit cups that don’t come from a jar.”

Bagel sandwiches are between four and five dollars.

“We have low fat yogurt parfaits made with our own granola and fresh fruit,” Santoro said.

The yogurt parfaits are made with organic vanilla yogurt and sell for only $4.

As far as coffee goes, Good Day has something for everyone.

“We use a local roaster from Jamaica Plain,” said Santoro.

Fazenda Coffee is among the most popular coffee suppliers in the region.

“It’s locally roasted which is always a good thing,” said Santoro. Good Day Café buys and sells only organic coffee.

A unique program that Good Day Café has developed is the “Treat of the Month” program.

Here’s how it works; you can have Good Day send monthly treats to anyone in town. They will receive a six or twelve delicious treats per month for up to twelve months.

“For example kids at or or or even your neighbor or clients or friends locally can get treats delivered to them,” Santoro explained.

This summer's flavor happens to be quite peachy.

“We have a lot of peach offerings in our bakery items this month,” Santoro explained. “We’re doing a peach crème, a peach tea bread and we have a peach-berry pie and they’re all using local peaches.”

“We’re even making our own pickles from a farm in Andover,” she continued.
