Pasta is a staple that is over 2,000 years old.

Today we integrate it into many dishes we eat. Pasta seemingly collaborates with anything from seafood to cheddar cheese. There are hundreds of different pasta varieties meant to match with various sauces and meats.

The Merrimack Valley is home to some of the most clever pasta dishes. Check out this list of five unique pasta dishes that you can find right around town.

1. Shrimp Venezia

on Osgood Street in North Andover describes seafood pasta as the dish most representative of its restaurant.

The great thing about Orzo is that their meals are highly customizable. The Shrimp Venezia is listed on the menu as one of the restaurant’s healthy choices. It features sautéed mushrooms, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, and wheat ziti. The dish costs $17.99 and chicken can be substituted for $15.99.

You can also substitute Fusilli pasta for $3 or Angel Hair for $1. Add a breast of chicken in there for $4 and tack on another $1 to make it spicy.

2. Baked Lobster Mac n’ Cheese

Yes, Mac n’ Cheese counts as pasta.

on Park Street in Andover has some unique pastas; the most interesting of which incorporates another New England favorite, lobster.

The lobster meat is sautéed with penne, then baked in alfredo sauce and garnished with Ritz cracker crumbs. The dish is served with a garden salad and goes for $20.95.

is quite obviously known for its pies, but don’t overlook their pasta dinners.

Their ravioli with eggplant will cost you only $8.95 and it is served alongside a salad and garlic bread. The pasta comes with your choice of garlic butter or alfredo sauce. If you would like your pasta topped with cheese it will cost you only $0.75.

Whether you are waiting for a train at Andover’s MBTA station or simply in the mood for an inexpensive and top quality pasta dinner, on Andover Street in Andover will take care of you.

Their version of the famous chicken, ziti and broccoli combination costs only $8.99 and it comes with some fresh garlic bread.

5. Chicken Marsala

If you are a linguine fan, the Ninety Nine’s chicken marsala should be on your radar.

The dish features sautéed chicken breasts drizzled with melted mozzarella cheese. The rich marsala sauce tops it off.
