Five Local Vegetarian Dishes

Not a meat eater? Not a problem.

The holiday season is upon us and many people enjoy roasting a turkey or some prime rib around this time of year.

Some of us, however, abstain from eating meat. Be it for religious, personal, or health reasons, not all of us consume meat.

This edition of Andovers A La Carte is for those of you who are vegetarian or just in the mood for something without meat. Check out these five vegetarian dishes you can find locally:

2. Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Sandwich

, in downtown North Andover, is known for its seafood but one vegetarian option you cannot miss lies in the “Signature Sandwiches” portion of the menu.

The Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Sandwich is an irresistible favorite. The fresh buffalo mozzarella is juxtaposed with plum tomatoes, lettuce, basil, and pesto oil. The sandwich is a steal at only $5.49. Available breads for this treat are French baguette and multi-grain baguette.

3. Paradise Garden

, on North Main Street in Andover, offers a dish that many would order based on its name alone.

The Paradise Garden meal features cauliflowers, bamboo shoots, and zucchini. That’s not even close to all as it also comes with Thai eggplants and peppers in a red curry sauce served with sweet basil leaves. The lunch portion costs $7.50 and the dinner portion is $10.50.

4. Spinach & Cheese Calzone

, on Main Street in North Andover, is another great option for vegetarians.

Their calzone menu is a place where vegetarians may find their mouths watering. The Spinach & Cheese calzone comes with both mozzarella and cheddar.  The small costs $8.99 and the large is $12.99. Other veggie calzone options include Broccoli & cheese or Eggplant Parmesan.

5. Veggie Sandwich

, on High Street in North Andover, offers a dish that vegetarians have always taken solace in.
