Five Local Shrimp Dishes

In the mood for some shrimp? Kill the craving with some local suggestions.

Shrimp inhabited the Earth long before humans did.

Believe it or not, our diminutive and delicious friends have been around since the early Jurassic period. 

These tasty crustaceans are versatile when it comes to the kitchen. Whether you like them fried, cold, with pasta, or salad, you can find them right in town. Today we will celebrate some local shrimp dishes.

1. Firecracker Shrimp

 in North Andover offers a shrimp dish that will explode with flavor, hence the name, Firecracker Shrimp.

The shrimp are lightly breaded and fried, tossed with spicy aioli sauce, topped with creamy ranch dressing, and blue cheese crumbles, and served atop a blue corn tostado. It's listed on the menu as an appetizer and it costs $10.95.

2. Fried Jumbo Shrimp

in Andover offers a classic American Chinese food dish, the Fried Jumbo Shrimp.

Three pieces are $5.65; six pieces are $8.75. These crunchy treats go perfect with hot mustard for the spice fans and duck sauce for the sweeter crowd. 

3. Cranberry Salad with Shrimp

At  in North Andover, this popular salad can be topped with shrimp for the cost of $11.99.

The salad features fresh greens, dried cranberries, cranberry dressing, candied walnuts, crumbled goat cheese, and of course, shrimp. 

4. Colossal Shrimp Cocktail with Sauce

5. Joe's Garlicky Shrimp

Joe's Garlicky Shrimp features jumbo shrimp sauteed with garlic, olive oil, and white wine. It is tossed in linguine and parmesean cheese then garnish with a tomato baked with cheese and bread crumbs. This special dinner item costs $18.99.
