Enjoy a local treat this winter.

The holidays are a time of indulgence and with indulgence comes dessert.

Be it famous fruitcake or coveted cookies, everyone has a treat this time of year they would like you to try, savor, and enjoy.

Here are five desserts that you can find locally; enjoy them this holiday season with your friends and family.

1. Apricot Granola Cookies

Located on Main Street, this local pastry shop has a little something for everyone. The apricot granola cookies are homemade and mixed with real chunks of apricot. A dozen of these delectable morsels costs only $9.98.

2. Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes

Local baker Nadine Levin runs , a bakery that specializes in some of the most unique cupcakes you will ever find. The Lemon Raspberry Cupcake is Nadine’s current Sweet of the Month.

Hours are by appointment only; Pipe Dream caters to many events and will also sell cupcakes to customers in the area upon request. Give them a call at 978-397-6470.

3. Santa Centerpiece

Question: What would make your holiday spread complete?

Answer: A Santa Claus centerpiece made entirely made out of milk chocolate.

on Main Street in Andover will make it happen for you. They sell a variety of holiday themed sweets including large chocolate snowmen and nutcrackers. Stop by Mimi’s or call them at 978-749-9969 and have them ship your order straight to you.

4. Zucchini Bread with Basil

Only local and organic ingredients are used at online bakery in Andover. You will have to order online to get a taste of some of Andover’s freshest baked goods.

Rye flour and wheat germ are the ingredients that give this loaf a flavor of nuts without any actual nuts. It will serve as an after dinner delight or even a strong breakfast.

5. Turtles

in North Andover uses some of the oldest recipes you will find around these parts.

A pound of turtles costs $21.98 and here is what you get: rich chocolate mixed into creamy caramel along with crisp nuts. Choose either milk or dark chocolate and your choice of pecans, cashews or almonds. The nuts are circled like the shell of a turtle and these critters will end a nice holiday meal in delicious fashion.
