Five Beastly Burgers

Hold off on firing up your grill in this chilly weather; try a delicious local burger.

Unfortunately, it is too frigid for most people to grill burgers outdoors. The pastime of heating up the charcoals and enjoying the sun and breeze is still at least a couple of months away.

In the meantime, the desire for burgers still burns from within. Kill the craving by having one of the Merrimack Valley’s finest restaurants grill you up something tasty. And don’t forget the fries.

1. Buffalo, Elk, and Wild Boar Burgers

When indulging by going out for a meal, it is a custom to order something that you may not usually cook at home.

That opportunity will arise if you stop at Fuddruckers on 114 where Buffalo, Elk, and Wild Boar Burgers are available daily. The charm of Fuddruckers includes a glorious produce bar that can allow you to customize your burger to your exact specifications.

2. Nacho Burger

You like nachos and you like burgers. Luckily, these are two things that are compatible.

Ninety Nine in both Andover and North Andover sells this unique burger for only $8.99. It is piled with queso cheese, jalapeno peppers, tomato salsa and crispy tortilla chips. It includes either fries or coleslaw.

3. Jalapeno Blue Cheese Burger

Blue cheese and burgers have always seemed destined to be together, don’t you think?

Jaime’s in North Andover brings the two together in style with the Jalapeno Blue Cheese Burger for $10.99 including fries. It’s topped with blue cheese crumbles, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. Bacon can be added for a dollar and mushrooms are $0.75.

4. Angus Burger Hot Sub

Andover Deli will not disappoint you even though this burger isn’t as traditional as the others on this list.

The Angus Burger Hot Sub is a steal at $4.99 for a nine inch sub. The 12 inch is only a dollar more.

5. Grilled 6 Ounce Hamburger

The bargain portion of this list comes from Park Street Pub in Andover.

Park Street’s kitchen is only open during lunchtime making this the spot for a perfect and inexpensive lunchtime break. The burger costs $4.99 and includes lettuce, tomato, onion and fries. Adding bacon, cheese, or chili to the burger will cost you only $0.50.
