Tech-Free Valentine’s Day

You’ll find great food and wine on restaurant’s Valentine’s Day menus everywhere, but one thing that you don’t expect to find is a ban on cell phones?! This year Orzo Trattoria located in North Andover, MA is putting a stop to the technological madness and disconnected diners by banning the use of cell phones during Valentine’s Day Dinner on February 14th, 2011.

Executive Chef/Owner Michael Reppucci is tired of seeing guests look lonely, even though they aren’t actually alone, due to their date’s constant texting, emailing and phone checking. In celebration of the romantic holiday, Reppucci is serving a list of eye-catching specials such as the house-made lobster pie, veal tortelloni and jumbo shrimp served with Grand Marnier over greens, in addition to a ban on cell phones during Orzo’s dinner service from 3:00PM to 10:00PM. Orzo’s Valentine’s Day specials will be served in conjunction with the regular menu, but sorry folks, the cell phone ban is non-negotiable. So sit back, turn off the phone, and have a conversation!
