WHAT: In recent years the wine industry has seen an explosion in the popularity of California wines. All that is about to change, however, as poor growing seasons and a shifting economy have resulted in a shortage of quality grapes that will bring about drastic price increases for vinophile’s favorite West Coast wines. On Saturday, September 15th, 2012 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, The Wine ConneXtion will show guests, sip-by-sip and bottle-by-bottle, that Chilean wine deserves a place on their shelves and in their glasses at “Getting Chile,” a complimentary tasting of Chilean wines just in time to warm them up for the cooler weather fall is sure to bring. Guests are invited to sip and swirl their way through Chile’s wine regions, from its Pacific coasts to the peaks of the Andes and the valleys of the Atacama Desert, as they enjoy light South American fare from Chama Grill to compliment native reds such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon and Carmenere, a deep purple grape unique to the country, as well as some of the region’s best sauvignon blancs.

After tasting all that Chile’s vines have to offer, guests will wonder why they haven’t journeyed to this ever expanding section of the store before.
