Citrus Style for Summer 2012

A hot summer trend offers a splash of color.

You may think that wearing your food is a bad idea, but an appealing summer hottest trend this year has fashionistas everywhere wearing all things citrus.

The color trend has been hot throughout spring and continues into the hot summer months with a focus on citrus tones.  Think lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines and grapefruits. The fresh and cheerful hues of citrus complement many neutral tones including gray, black and khaki. Grab your favorite pair of basic shorts in any one of these neutral colors; add a citrus top and you’ll look bright and trendy

Pair a citrus tone with white and you’ve got a quintessential summer palette that will not only amplify your wardrobe, but your attitude as well.

Citrus colors also work nicely against many skin tones whether you like to stay out of the sun or work on your tan.

If wearing color isn’t your thing, try incorporating these shades into your accessories.  Shoes, handbags and jewelry in citrus can add just the pop you need to step out in summer style.  Don’t forget your nail polish in citrus shades too.
