Live Music This Weekend: Music at North Parish and More

Here are some live music happenings this weekend around the North Shore.

This weekend is packed with live music on the North Shore and a whole bunch of bands playing a wide variety of music genres, from classic rock to blues and soul, can be seen for free at rock clubs and restaurants throughout the region.

North Parish Church in North Andover will send off 2012 with music and dance. Guitarist and song writer Jim Scott will lead an intergenerational service on the Turning of the Year on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 11:00 am.

Scott will present Toward the Sun- Rebirth of Light and the Turning of the Year. His performance is part of the North Parish’s Green Sanctuary Project, an on-going sustainability initiative.

Then on Monday, Dec. 31, an All-Ages Sock Hop will celebrate the New Year with dancing from 6 to 9 p.m. and a countdown at 8 p.m.

Both events are free and open to the public.
