Town Plans Two Days of Fun for Fourth of July

The nation's 236th birthday is just around the corner, and North Andover will celebrate Independence Day for two days.

July 3

The North Andover Festival Committee will host a fireworks display on Tuesday, July 3, at

From 5 to 9 p.m., there will be music and entertainment by DJ Russ McQueen. There will be a beer tent by the as well as food vendors, carnival games, karate demonstrations and pony rides.

The show will begin at dusk, a little after 9 p.m., and is expected to last for about 20 minutes.

The Festival Committe is spending almost $10,000 for the show to make it spectacular. Let's just hope we don't see a repeat of last year, when Mother Nature forced the town to

The Main Gallery will be open to the public on July 3 1 to 3 p.m. Theer will be a Civil War Exhibit in the main gallery and view a short film by graduate and local Luke Maus exploring the local role in the American Revolution.

July 4

On Independence Day itself, the town will hold its Fourth of July Festival at the Common from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be a pancake breakfast to begin the day at the from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. An annual doll carriage parade will start at 12 p.m. The day will feature kids' games, crafters, food vendors, a beer tent, a DJ, karate demonstrations and bands playing from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
