Joy to the World: Handel's Messiah and More

Having a hard time getting into the spirit of the season with all of this unseasonably warm weather lately? LET US HELP! This concert is not to be missed. Tickets will be available at the door but you may also by them online if you don't want to take the chance.

Handel's Messiah is one of the most beloved and familiar choral pieces in the repertory, and as such is often performed without a lot of preparation. That isn't the case at NECS: under the meticulous David Hodgkins, the choir, orchestra, and soloists bring out every phrase and nuance of this masterful work. Hear it again as though for the first time! NECS will perform the Christmas portion of the Messiah plus the Hallelujah chorus accompanied by a professional orchestra and soloists; Charlotte Dobbs, Soprano; Krista River, Mezzo Soprano; Jason McStoots, Tenor; and Thomas Jones, Bass.

As a special treat August Watters, will perform the Giuliani Sinfonia for Mandolin and Orchestra. Carols and refreshments follow the performance.
