A snowstorm forecasted to start Tuesday night is shaping up to be a bit more than just an inch or two in the Andovers.

winter storm warning was issued on Monday afternoon by the National Weather Service for a 24 hour period from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The warning was issued at 3:58 p.m. on Monday.

The wind will blow from the north at 10-20 miles per hour with gusts to 35 mph.

In addition to the heavy snow and strong wind, the temperature will be in single digits and the teens.

As has been the case all winter, the snow will have its greatest impact on driving with travel “slow at best on well treated surfaces and quite difficult on any unplowed or untreated surfaces,” according to the weather service.
