PHOTOS: Sandy Relief Drive Huge Success

Recently, the owners of Turtle Lane Maple Farm were collecting donations of supplies for delivery to victims of Hurricane Sandy in Bell Harbor, N.Y.

And boy, did the community respond.

On Friday, Boulanger and Gallagher loaded a huge truck on Turtle Lane with everything from cleaning supplies to clothing and pet goods. People had been dropping stuff off there all week, and the front porch was now covered in donations.

"This isn't all of it," Boulanger said as they prepared to load the bags and boxes onto the truck. "We're going to a restaurant on the way down called Dylan's, they're having an event to collect stuff there. We're also going to stop at a rest stop on Route 84 to meet with a moms group that has more stuff."

Boulanger and Gallagher had already made a trip to Bell Harbor before, and the devastation from the storm was so great that they felt the need to do it again.

And this time, when management at Bob's Discount Furniture found out, they let them use one of their trucks for the delivery.

The donated items were brought to St Francis De Sales Church Rescue Center at Rockaway Beach in Queens, N.Y., an area severely hit by Sandy.
