Disaster Relief Cleaning Supply Collection at First United Methodist Church of North Andover

First United Methodist Church is collecting cleaning supplies for disaster relief. The supplies will be assembled into cleaning kits, contained in 5-gallon buckets, that will be delivered to areas of the US that have been impacted by natural disasters, such as the massive flooding in Colorado last month.

The church has set a goal of assembling 25 cleaning buckets during October. The community is invited to help the church reach its goal by donating cleaning supplies or money to purchase items to complete the cleaning kits. The church will be accepting donations from the community on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and Sunday, October 20 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. To make a financial contribution, please send a check made out to First United Methodist Church, 57 Peters Street, North Andover and write "Cleaning Buckets" on the memo.

The cleaning supplies should be durable to stand up to heavy use. See www.NorthAndoverUMC.org for the list of supplies needed to fill the cleaning buckets. Once all of the supplies are gathered, the cleaning buckets will be assembled after the worship service on Sunday, October 27 at noon. The completed cleaning bucket kits will be given to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), who will distribute the kits wherever the next natural disaster strikes. UMCOR is the humanitarian relief agency of the United Methodist Church. It works in the US and around the world as the hands and feet of Christ to alleviate suffering from war, conflict, and natural disasters.

First United Methodist Church of North Andover is a community of Christians committed to living their faith by practicing love, embodying hope and doing justice. The church’s mission is to invite all to join them and to serve actively in the local and global communities.
