The owner of Buono Bistro was allegedly assaulted by a former employee Tuesday night. At just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call from an employee of that restaurant reporting that the owner had just been assaulted. An ambulance was called for the victim. Police say a local man was growing marijuana in an empty half of a duplex downtown. Brian McDonald, 25, of 90 Saunders St., North Andover, was arrested for manufacture of a class D substance Monday. Police received a call Monday morning just after 6 p.m. by a resident who reported two suspicious people entering an unoccupied home on Saunders Street. Labor Day weekend is usually a time for cookouts and swimming. But this weekend, there were also drug arrests. On Friday afternoon, North Andover Police stopped a man on Main Street for failure to yield and operating after suspension, according to police reports, and then chased him on foot when he ran off. Police quickly apprehended Wesley Romano, 23, of 30 Sargent St., North Andover, and also charged him for possession of a class B substance and possession of a class C substance.
