It was a dramatic weekend for the North Andover Police Department. First, on Friday morning, just after 8 a.m., police stopped a man in the police station parking lot and determined he was impaired by drugs. Stephen Prochniak, 42, of 12 Irongate Drive, Andover, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and possession of a class E substance. "Class E" generally refers to prescription narcotics. Then, on Saturday, a caller on Berkeley Road reported that his friend was trying to kick in his door. A man was arrested for allegedly enjoying his time at the Stevens Memorial Library in a rather inappropriate way. Police received a call Sunday afternoon just after 4 p.m. reporting a man sitting at a computer and masturbating. Police went to the library and arrested the man. Police Lt. Here is a list of some of the strangest police log entries of 2012: Jan. 6: At 6:19 a.m., a woman walked into the station and said she was concerned because McDonald's was in darkness and they are usually open at that time. North Andover Police arrested four students at North Andover High School Thursday on drug charges. The students -- all juveniles -- were arrested by Officer Brendan Gallagher just before 1 p.m. Thursday. Police would not go into detail about the drugs, but one 14-year-old and a 15-year-old were charged with distribution of a class E substance. Two other 15-year-olds were charged with conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws. "Class E substance" referrs to a variety of drugs including prescription narcotics.
